Textbook and course reader adoptions can be e-mailed to the
Academic Materials Coordinator at textbooks@colby.edu, or submitted on paper.Our
Custom Course Reader Adoption Form lays out all the information
necessary for us to create a custom reader for your course.Colby's custom publishing program produces customized course
materials, tailored to meet the requirements of Colby's professors,
and the needs of Colby's students. Customized course materials
eliminate the need for multiple textbooks, and allow faculty to
select articles from a variety of sources.Articles and books are intellectual property. Colby Custom Publishing
secures copyright permission, and calculates, collects, and pays the
proper royalties to copyright holders. We handle production of the
coursepack and make sure it appears on the textbook shelves with the
rest of the required texts for your course.
All the down-loadable forms on this web page are in
Adobe Acrobat Reader format. Acrobat Reader is available
on the Colby General Server, or over the Internet from
Adobe's web site.
Hard copies of the forms are also available from the
Academic Materials Coordinator.
The Bookstore has purchased copies of a helpful
booklet, Instructional Resources for Faculty, to assist faculty in
requesting desk copies. The directory lists publisher desk copy
contacts with phone and fax numbers. Copies of the
booklet are available to Colby teaching faculty free of charge. If

Desk Copy Request Form to request desk copies from the
publisher, or devise one of your own.

traditional texts as well as coursepacks and digital textbook
